The Hermiston Education Foundation awarded $7,540 in grants this spring. The staff members below will be able to fund the following projects:
Shareana Sparks, Rocky Heights—Funds to create a classroom library that will have materials that will cover various themes.
Tammy Mayer, Sandstone—Funds to equip the outdoor atrium area at Sandstone for sensory playground/calming area for students with sensory needs.
Brianna Smith, Hermiston High School—Funds to develop and implement a student work area for “Flex” students. It will include benches with writing spaces as well as a water feature.
Delia Fields, Hermiston High School—Funds to purchase Spanish language books for students and teachers.
Rebecca Crawford, Sunset—Funds to purchase a variety of sensory and flexible seating tools.
A HUGE thank you to the Hermiston Education Foundation board and supporters. Your passion and dedication to raising funds that affect the children in our schools is greatly appreciated. The $7,540 will be used wisely.
