The Hermiston School District is pleased to announce the sale of the fifth student-built home located in the Fieldstone Crossing subdivision, to Denny Whitsett.
The custom 2,376 sq. ft. home has a modern design and state-of-the-art amenities. The home is beautiful and comfortable with coffered ceilings in the dining room, 9-foot ceilings throughout the home, granite and cultured marble countertops, a water softener system, surround sound system, a gas fireplace, insta hot water, and central vacuum system with a hide-a-hose.
The home is energy-efficient, as evident by the above code standards with Energy Trust of Oregon. It has enhanced insulation, sealed ductwork, energy-efficient windows, heating/cooling ventilation systems, envelope tightness measures, energy-efficient lights, and appliances.
The Hermiston School District, in cooperation with the Northeast Oregon Homebuilder’s Association, utilized a state CTE Revitalization grant in 2013 to create the program, to train high school students from the Hermiston, Umatilla and Stanfield school districts in start-to-finish residential building. The proceeds from the sale of each student-built home are used to fund the next project, with the goal of producing one home every year in the Fieldstone Crossing subdivision. Construction has already begun on the sixth home and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2020.

HERMISTON – El Distrito Escolar de Hermiston se complace en anunciar la venta de la quinta casa construida por estudiantes ubicada en la subdivisión Fieldstone Crossing, a Denny Whitesett.
La casa personalizada de 2,376 pies cuadrados tiene un diseño moderno y comodidades de sofisticada teconología. La casa es hermosa y cómoda con techos artesonados en el comedor, techos de 9 pies en toda la casa, mostradores de granito y mármol cultivado, un sistema de suavizador de agua, sistema de sonido envolvente de bocinas, chimenea de gas, agua caliente instantánea, y sistema de aspiración central con guarda manguera.
La casa es energéticamente eficiente, como es evidente por los estándares del código con Energy Trust de Oregon. Tiene aislamiento mejorado, conductos sellados, ventanas que economizan la energía, sistema de ventilación de calefacción/aire acondicionado, medidas de opresión envolvente, luces y aparatos de bajo consumo eléctrico.
En el 2013, el Distrito Escolar de Hermiston en cooperación con la Asociación de Constructores de Casas del Noroeste de Oregon, utilizo una beca estatal de Revitalización CTE para crear el programa, para capacitar a estudiantes de la preparatoria de los distritos escolares de Hermiston, Umatilla y Stanfield en construcción residencial de principio a fin. Las ganancias de la venta de cada casa construida por estudiantes se utilizan para financiar el próximo proyecto, con el objetivo de producir una casa cada año en la subdivisión Fieldstone Crosssing. La construcción ya ha comenzado en la sexta casa y se espera que este terminada en la primavera del 2020.
