The Hermiston School District Board of Education is proud to announce that the district’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, qualified for the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
This award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The district business department was also recognized with an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement (AFRA), for being primarily responsible for the district earning the Certificate.
The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the district’s financial story and motivate individuals to read the report.
“The district’s business department staff is top-notch,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tricia Mooney. “Receiving this award for the fifteenth time is a testament to their hard work. We also have great leadership from the school board as well as community members who have served on the budget committee. Together as a whole, each of them has helped the district maintaining exemplary financial stewardship.”
El Distrito Escolar de Hermiston gana un premio financiero por decimoquinta vez
La Junta Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Hermiston se enorgullece en anunciar que el informe financiero anual integral (siglas en inglés CAFR) del distrito, para el año fiscal que termina el 30 de junio, del 2020, calificó para el Certificado de Logro de Excelencia en Informes Financieros de la Asociación de Oficiales Financieros del Gobierno de los Estados Unidos y Canadá (siglas en inglés GFOA).
Este premio es la forma más alta de reconocimiento en el área de la contabilidad gubernamental y la presentación de informes financieros, y su logro representa un logro significativo por parte de un gobierno y su administración.
El departamento de negocios del distrito también fue reconocido con un Premio al Logro de Informes Financieros (siglas en inglés AFRA), por ser los principales responsables de que el distrito obtuviera el Certificado.
El informe fue juzgado por un panel imparcial para cumplir con los altos estándares del programa, el cual incluye demostrar la demostración constructiva de un "espíritu de divulgación detallada" para comunicar claramente la historia financiera de la agencia gubernamental y motivar a individuos a leer el informe.
