Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tricia Mooney announced the selection of new building administrators today. Three teachers on special assignment (TOSAs) will serve as assistant principals next school year.
Current high school Dean of Students Melissa Doherty will be a Hermiston High School assistant principal, as will Andy Hall, a current secondary school instructional coach.
Doherty was hired by Hermiston School District in 2014 as a second-grade teacher. After working at the elementary level for seven years, she moved to the secondary level this year as dean.
Hall is in his sixth year with the district, serving all of those years at the secondary level. A previous math teacher, Hall became an instructional coach in 2019, where he leads teachers to improve their student instruction and classroom management.
Casey Arstein, also a current secondary instructional coach, has been selected as the Armand Larive Middle School assistant principal. Arstein is a physical education teacher by trade; a position he held at Sandstone Middle School from 2006 until Fall 2021. Arstein is a 2001 Hermiston High School graduate.

La Superintendente de Escuelas, la Dra. Tricia Mooney, anunció hoy la selección de nuevos administradores de las escuelas. Tres maestros en asignación especial (siglas en inglés TOSA) servirán como subdirectores el próximo año escolar.
La actual decana de estudiantes de la prepraratoria, Melissa Doherty, será subdirectora de la prepraratoria de Hermiston, al igual que Andy Hall, un actual entrenador de instrucción de la prepraratoria.
Doherty fue contratada por el Distrito Escolar de Hermiston en el 2014 como maestra de segundo grado. Después de trabajar en una escuela primaria durante siete años, se mudó al nivel secundario este año, como decana.
Hall está en su sexto año con el distrito, sirviendo todos esos años en el nivel secundario. Previamente maestro de matemáticas, Hall se convirtió en entrenador de instrucción en el 2019, donde ayuda a los maestros a mejorar la instrucción con sus estudiantes y como manejar su salón de clase.
Actualmente, Casey Arstein, también un entrenador de instrucción secundario, ha sido seleccionado como subdirector de la Escuela Secundaria Armand Larive. Arstein es maestro de educación física de profesión; un puesto que ocupó en la Escuela Secundaria Sandstone desde el 2006 hasta el otoño del 2021. Arstein se graduó en 2001 de Hermiston High School.
